Tissue Paper Flowers

This weekend, I brought some fun activities to the Downtown Open Market in Boynton. It resulted in a horde of boys and girls with paper flowers to brighten up the stormy day, and even a few grown ups excited to try the project for events like weddings, baby showers and holidays!

If you’ve never made tissue paper flowers before, you must have recently attended an elementary school in Broward County that likes to fire its art teachers! Oh, snap! Just kidding. Sort of. Don’t worry, it’s not too late to learn. Here’s an easy video tutorial. Mine weren’t as fancy, we used a plain plastic drinking straw instead of the bamboo stake, and a staple to both close the fan and attach it to the straw stem.
