Convention and Craft Show Season is upon us! I want to take a minute to promote two events I will be attending, both of which are donating their proceeds to great causes.
If you attend only one tattoo convention in South Florida, this should be it. The South Florida Tattoo Expo, in its 6th year, was the first tattoo convention I ever attended, and it made a huge impact on me. It got me hooked, is still one of my favorite events of the year. A show for locals by locals, with all profits benefiting Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, it’s a fun event for tattooed and non-tattooed South Floridians alike. Be on the lookout for upcoming posts highlighting some of the tattoo specials, art and merchandise that will be available at our booth, and what other booths you won’t want to miss.
A new event that I am really excited about participating in is Art Sunny Side Up, a fundraiser for local school Lighthouse Christian Academy. I will have two separate booths at this show. One will showcase the combined creative efforts of the Bat/Lopez family including prints, affordable framed original art, paintings, drawings, and some really cute crafts. And another booth will allow festival goers of all ages the opportunity to create their own original Recycled Robot Sculpture. Recycled Robots are one of my students’ all-time favorite projects, and I’m looking forward to sharing this fun and eco-friendly sculpture experience with everyone at Art Sunny Side Up!
